The Third largest hamburger chain in the U.S. has entered the country in partnership with Sierra Nevada Restaurants Pvt Ltd. that owns master franchisee of Wendy’s in India. Jasper’s London based company has helped with the launch of Wendy’s In India.
Special Occasionz team had the privilege to join Wendy’s team at a Pre-Launch in sector 29 Gurgaon for a sneak peek in their menu. The 70-80 Seater QSR is committed to give fast casual experience in a quickest way. It has always been an endeavour at Wendy’s to make use of state of the art technology to expedite service timeline and limit manual preparations to give its customers world class taste.
Wendy’s Trademark square burgers will continue to demarcate them from existing Big Daddys-Mc Donalds and Burger King. The menu is a big big surprise as there is a very well balanced ratio of Vegetarian and Non –Vegetarian Burgers. The kitchen and its equipment is clearly demarcated for Veg and Non veg preparations. So are the people manning the cook stations wearing red or green border aprons to identify their side of the kitchen. The new Wendy’s Menu came to life after hundreds of food trials in India and abroad. For vegetarian customers, choices range from spinach and corn burger to standard potato patty burger. A whopping 6 veg burgers stuffed with patties ranging from falafel to mushrooms. Non Vegetarian can choose from two lamb burgers or nine chicken burgers. What else can one ask for?
Wendy’s is also offering bacon on the menu in the form of the single & Double Baconator -its famous bacon burger that will be built using chicken patties instead of beef.
Wendy’s is serving salads for extremely health conscious people; which isn’t a general practice in the QSR industry. Chicken Ranch salad with greens comes in a light dressing which is quiet tasteful. One of the signature burgers claim that people go in for a double baconator as a need always to satiate their wildest bacon cravings. There isn’t room for feeling guilty under the weight of layers of bacon sandwiched between slices of American cheese, mayonnaise and ketchup. The cheese slices melts between the brioche buns and chicken patties. The patty retains its juiciness for a good period of time till you finish the whole thing.
The Old fashioned Hamburger also has a value range which includes Crunchy spicy aloo crunch and Chilli cheese melt-All priced at Rs 59. The Non Veg selection at Wendy’s cater Jnr Chicken (79), Chicken cheese melt (89) and Classic chicken (139). These can satisfy your snacky cravings for sure. These are Big on taste small on price.
The Greek Mutton Burger was done up in a Brioche Bun and was generously topped up with Tzatziki sauce. Patty was quiet soft and cooked to perfection. Even the BBQ bacon club patty was bursting with flavors of BBQ sauce and mayo. The Chilli Ghost Burger stands out completely for its distinguished flavor of chilli (sourced from Nagaland) along with hot chilli sauce done up again in Brioche bun.
In Drinks, we tried watermelon cooler and cucumber fizz. My personal favorites was watermelon which was prepared in a homestyle way with no frills attached.
Paneer Burger category is clearly ruled by ultimate Paneer with oodles of mint sauce and mayo just making it finger licking. Paneer was completely tender and creamy. I am sure NO ONE CAN EAT JUST ONE….
Wendy’s natural cut fries- Now this has something special. Naturally cut from whole russet potatoes, cooked skin-on nd served hot and crispy with the sprinkle of sea salt for a taste as real as it gets. You might have had fries but now try some real fries.
Our meal was summed up by a frosty- Cool, creamy and refreshing, made from 100 % milk and cream, nothing satisfies more than this Wendy’s original. The flavor everyone falls in love with.
Banana & Caramel frosty- Creamy, classic frosty swirled with all natural brown sugar and hint of banana.
